A Little Bit About Nadia
Nadia is currently in a wonderful foster care home in Valley Center. After 250 days of living in the shelter, Nadia’s volunteer pals could no longer resist her charms, and now they are her foster guardians! She has continued to win them over with her good house manners and whimsical ways. Nadia adapted immediately to the family’s routine. She loves eating two meals a day, she is totally housebroken, though she still is learning that she can actually tell people now when she needs to go out, rather than wait for an invitation! Although she would prefer to be out of her crate, she is very well behaved in it… and she can stay there for several hours if the family goes out, and she sleeps there all night without a peep. She loves squeaky toys and things she can chew on, and she loves riding in the car! Everything is still a new adventure for her and sometimes she is very timid in new situations, or with new people.
Nadia currently lives with two young female dogs about her size and the family cat. However, she would do much better in a home without a cat or small dogs. She has not interacted off-leash with the family dogs yet, but she can be in the same room while in her crate, and they have all taken very peaceful leash walks together. It seems that she is pretty dog-friendly, but would probably love to be an only dog so she can be the center of her family’s universe! An easy-going male dog could possibly work out to be a great pal for Nadia.
Nadia’s most difficult challenge is meeting new human friends, but she is slowly learning to trust more. She loves her human pals in the shelter Canine Good Citizen class, and she has happily met many new friends during her Beginner Class at Hidden Valley Obedience Club. She has had a series of sessions with a Reiki practitioner, and that is helping her confidence grow. She seems a little wary of children…she doesn’t seem to like a lot of noise and chaos, so an all-adult home ( or a home with quiet older kids) would be more to her liking. Nadia’s “perfect day” would include a long walk or hike, and she could be a great jogging pal. She’s very well trained and has actually passed the Canine Good Citizen test. Once she knows and trusts her humans, there is no end to her snuggling and loving and cuddling.
Nadia is spayed, fully vaccinated, micro chipped, de wormed and de fleaed. She has been behavior tested. You will also receive a free vet exam to use within two weeks of her adoption at a local private vet’s office (20 from which to choose from). If you live in Poway, Escondido or San Marcos her dog license is included. Please feel free to call the Adult Dog Foster Care Coordinator Julie at 760-594-7605 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org to meet Nadia.
